Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you book through one, the operator pays us a commission and you pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise. That is the whole arrangement.

What it does not change

It does not decide what gets recommended. The clearest way to show that rather than claim it: on the architecture cruise page, the tour we recommend is the Chicago Architecture Center cruise, which is the one operator on that page we earn nothing from. On the observation decks page there are no affiliate links at all, because both decks sell their own tickets and we are in neither programme.

Every page that carries affiliate links says, at the bottom, what the commission does not change about that specific page. If we cannot write that sentence truthfully for a page, the problem is the recommendation, not the disclosure.

What we will not do

• Rank operators by what they pay.
• Put booking buttons inside comparison tables. Tables are for reading, not for selling.
• Recommend something we have not checked because it converts well.
• Hide the disclosure. It is at the bottom of every page that needs one, and it is this page in full.

Programmes

Where we participate in an affiliate programme, links to that operator carry rel="sponsored nofollow". Links to operators we earn nothing from are ordinary links. You can check this in the page source.
